Mauritius is an island in the Indian Ocean, southeast of the African continent. The Republic of Mauritius comprises of the islands Mauritius, Rodrigues, Agalega, and St Brandon. Mauritius obtained its independence in 1968 from the United Kingdom and became a Republic in 1992.

Mauritius is a pluricultural multi-ethnic country. Mauritius is a high-income economy and the economy is highly diversified: tourism, textiles, financial services, ICT, property development, education and healthcare.

Mauritius is a safe and peaceful country. It has been ranked first in Africa by the Global Peace Index.

A foreign investor can rapidly settle in Mauritius with a company fully operational in a few weeks. Mauritius also has very interesting tax regime - corporate tax rate is 15% and dividends are tax free. Mauritius has signed double taxation avoidance agreements with 46 countries.
